Hair transplant is a medical treatment of lost hair. It is a surgical procedure in which a person with the problem of baldness is treated. The procedure is of moving hair follicles from one part of the patient’s scalp to the affected area. These two are called Donar and recipient area. The former is an area from where the hair is uprooted and the later is an area where the hair is planted. Microscopic care is observed by the team of experts in this process.

Hair Transplant Procedure

The hair transplant procedure includes the cultivation of hair at an affected area by surgically inserting hair Follicles from the donor area. A team of hair experts surgically implant those follicles effectively and painlessly.

What is a follicle?

A follicle is a group of 1 to 4 hair. These follicles at first extracted from the donor area and implanted into the bald area. This process of transferring hair is called hair transplant. The hair follicles are implanted according to the recipient area. Generally, 4 to 5 thousand grafts can be transplanted in one sitting and the process may take from 5 to 7 hours depending on the conditions.

Types of Hair Transplant procedures:

Talking about the hair transplant procedure, there are two types of hair transplant techniques- FUT and FUE. Either of these techniques account for the same result but their procedures are completely different from each other. A procedure of FUE is advance technology which is based on the FUT pattern but these days FUE is in action.

What is FUT?
FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) includes follicular units for the hair restoration process. In this method, a hair strip is removed from the back of the hair scalp. A team of doctors extracts a number of grafts from the hair strip. These grafts later on surgically inserted in the affected area. Thereafter surgeons puncture the area of receiving grafts and insert those small grafts into that area.

What is FUE?
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) this procedure is different from the FUT technique. In this process, the follicular units that contain 1 to 4 hair are removed with the help of Local Anesthesia. Very small punches of between 0.5mm to 1.0mm in diameter are used to extract small units of grafts. Thereafter surgeons puncture the area of receiving grafts and insert those small grafts into that area. These grafts are inserted very carefully as per the requirement of the recipient area.
